Vacuum Glass Tube: Glass cover , void of space, matter and air tight, protecting the elements of the bulb, to include the tungsten filament, shunt, dumet wires and glass bead. Weather resistant.
Tungsten Filament: Imported tungsten steel filament from Japan. The Filament conducts the electrical current carried by the copper dumet wires, forcing the current to jump from one dumet wire to the next, creating an arc of electricity that translates into the actual light.
Shunt: To turn off to one side or to shift energy. If and when the filament of the Christmas tree light bulb should burn out, the shunt is a protection which moves the current of electricity in a continuous flow through the dumet wires, bypassing the filament. The shunt is a safety device that keeps the entire Christmas light set from going out, if one Christmas tree light bulb filament burns out, the rest remain lit because of the shunt device. It is a safety mechanism against a defaulty filament.
Glass Bead: This device evenly distributes and holds the Dumet wires up through the husk into the vacuum glass tube.
Perm-o-Snap light lock Husk: A registered trademark of GKI. The husk is made of durable plastic and is what holds the bulb in place. The husk is what snaps into place when inserting the Christmas light bulb into an actual Christmas tree light set. GKI commercial husks do not fit in any other manufacturers Christmas light set.
Bethlehem light lock: The husk is made of durable plastic and is what holds the Christmas tree light bulb in place. The husk is what is inserted when placing the Christmas tree light bulb into a Christmas light set. The light lock then snaps over the socket of the Christmas light set ultimately locking the bulb into the set. Bethlehem commercial husks do not fit GKI commercial Christmas lights or any other manufacturers Christmas light set.
Dumet Wire: Thin fine wire that receives the energy from the Christmas light set cord and carries the energy into the actual Christmas light bulb.
Twist proof bulb husk socket: Pre – molded plastic husk socket holds Christmas tree light bulb firmly in husk, which prevents Christmas tree light bulb from being twisted out of husk. Christmas light Bulb, itself is pre shaped to fit exactly into the mold.
